First thing I thought of was Rockwell’s song from the 80′s –  ’somebody’s watching me‘.  © Darrell Lecorre

My wife wasn’t the only female in the house to get a treat today. Abby the labby went giddy over this ‘Daisy’s Heart’ organic pupcake. (made by Sheri over at Brainycakes in Mission … an amazing find)  When I asked Abby to sit she dropped to the floor faster than soldiers under fire, then when I said to stand back up she sprung up like a cirque du soleil acrobat. I hadn’t really seen her that excited before. I may have to try and video tape it next time.  © Darrell Lecorre

Abbs has a big brother staying with us for 6 weeks. The in-laws dropped off their shepherd/wolf cross ‘Xavier’ en route to Arizona for a little vitamin D. He is a big shedding teddybear with a wonderful temperament.

As this photo exemplifies, it has been a bit of an adjustment for Abby to learn to share her house, her family, and especially the spotlight. But she is slowly figuring it out.  © Darrell Lecorre

Craig and Smudge.  One of the great things about spending large chunks of time at dog parks is that you meet some amazing people there. And Craig is no exception. I don’t think I’ve ever met a more dedicated and loving dog owner. Lucky Smudge.  © Darrell Lecorre

“They live all over the world. They are friendly. I like them. They don’t ask for prints”.       - The wonderful Elliott Erwitt, when asked why he photographs dogs.

Abby and I play this little game whenever the camera is near water. She comes right next to me and shakes like livestock in the movie ‘Twister’. After quickly drying all my digital components, I head to a computer to post an unflattering photo of her. It’s just an understanding we have.    © Darrell Lecorre
